Female Mannequins
 
The female mannequin forms have been carefully designed to echo the tailoring of vintage French Stockman and Girard mannequins. The sloping seams at the hips, the panelling to the back and the handstitched final seam are all typical of vintage and antique tailoring.

Traditional Tailored Back Finish – As with all vintage mannequins (and also modern dressmakers models, such as market leaders Kennett and Lindsell) the handstitched seam runs down one side of the mannequin. This ensures that the finish is smooth and unobtrusive, allowing the tailoring to the back of the mannequin to be a feature in its own right.
 
Laced Back Finish – In addition to the traditional hand stitched side seam, a corset laced back finish is also available for your mannequin. These mannequins are laced with high quality, double sided satin ribbons.

Male Mannequins

These male mannequin forms are ideal for both contemporary and traditional interiors. They are specifically tailored to allow for a wide range of fabric covering, both plain and patterned and are a 38 inch chest. They are 162 cm tall at the shortest height and can be made taller using the turnkey under the torso. Once the torso is extended, the chrome pole will be visible.

The mannequins can be tailored in a range of stock fabrics, or you can provide your own fabric. They are available in both a floor standing and tabletop version.

As with the female mannequins, the tailoring is designed to echo the style of vintage child mannequins. The seam work over the tummy comes to a point in the centre and the back panelling finishes in the small of the back, just as in the vintage forms. 
 
These lovely forms can be used in a number of settings. From a centre piece display in a children’s clothing boutique, to a loved addition in a nursery or child’s bedroom. Their small size also means they can be placed on a sideboard or chest of drawers, without the need to find precious floor space.

Removable  Covers

Does your mannequin need a makeover? Or would you like it to be able to have a variety of different looks? These removable covers are made from the best quality stretch fabric and come in many different colours and finishes. From matt and  eggshell plain covers, to beautiful patterns and luxurious plain and crushed velvets.

Ideal for: dressmaking, retail stores, bridal boutiques, display, museums, craft users, home sewing, theatres, schools and colleges.

If you have a particular colour scheme you need to match and don’t see one here, then please get in touch. I may be able to source it for you and make a bespoke cover. Similarly if you need a particular size making.

Decoupage Mannequins

These mannequins have been decoupaged in original vintage and antique French newspapers and illustrations. I enjoy decoupaging both original vintage mannequins and also new mannequins. Wherever I am able, I will email you a choice of main images to choose from for the front of the torso. No two decoupage mannequins will ever be the same, as I only use original papers and images, but I may be able to make you a similar model if you have a picture of one you like. These mannequins have been formed from an original French Stockman torso from c1900 and they have a tiny 18.5 inch waist!  The aim in producing these mannequins was to replicate as closely as possible the tailoring of the vintage originals. To this end, the seamwork includes the deep v at the front of the torso and the v at the small of the back. Most importantly, the torso itself is made in the original way and is a thick papier mache construction. Your mannequin can be finished with a laced back or a traditional tailored finish and you also have the option to add shoulder caps if desired. 
These mannequins are ideal for anyone who loves the look and tailoring of an antique mannequin, but wants to have a choice of fabric covering to match their decor.

Vintage & Antique Mannequins

My first love … and the inspiration for my tailored range of mannequins.

I just love the sense of history they evoke with their vintage tailoring, shapely silhouettes and deliciously aged stands and fabrics. Genuine vintage mannequins and dressforms are getting more and more scarce to find, as those who manage to find one generally don’t want to part with them!

Recovering Service

If you have a mannequin you would like recovering, then do get in touch. I am able to recover a range of mannequins, from much loved vintage and antique mannequins to more modern mannequins which just need a new look. I always aim to maintain the original seamlines of the fabric cover, particularly with vintage mannequins. If this is a service you are interested in, it would help if you could send me some pictures of the mannequin in question and I will get back to you about the costings and next steps.

Recovering Service

Materials

Female, Male and Child mannequins. The mannequin torsos are made of a strong condensed polystyrene which will take pins very easily. The top finial and stand are made out of solid wood, and the toso and stand are connected with a  chrome centre pole.

The Waspwaisted Mannequins are made out of a very robust papier mache construction in the same way as the vintage originals.

All the mannequins are adjustable in height and the new height is secured using a small turnkey just under the torso.
 
These mannequins are intended for display and light home sewing purposes. Only the very best threads and fabrics are used to ensure the quality and durability of your new mannequin.
